About

I’m Dutch, living in Seattle with my family. I work as a Board Member and Chief Marketing Officer “as-a-service” for B2B SaaS companies.

You can read about my work at T2D3 and Kalungi.

The unofficial name of this blog, Tijdverdrijf, is related to Michiel De Ruyter, my favorite Dutch Hero, who took command in July 1655 of a squadron of eight. The Tijdverdrijf was his flagship and set out for the Mediterranean with 55 merchantmen in convoy. His orders were to protect Dutch trade. A movie about his adventures came out in 2015.

However, the main reason I picked the name of his ship as the name for my blog is due to my never-ending endeavor to share with the English speaking world how the letter IJ in my first name is to be pronounced.
