About

I’m Dutch, living in Seattle with my family. I work at Fluke, a Fortive Operating Company, where I help build the Software Business to power the Internet of Things for Industrial and Commercial Business Users. Before joining Fortive, I was the CEO at MightyCall, the leading Cloud Contact Center for SMB, after having been with Microsoft for an amazing 13 years, in various global roles. I enjoy Seahawks football, scuba diving, waterpolo and a lot of reading.

The unofficial name of this blog, Tijdverdrijf, is related to Michiel De Ruyter, my favorite Dutch Hero, who took command in July 1655 of a squadron of eight. The Tijdverdrijf was his flagship and set out for the Mediterranean with 55 merchantmen in convoy. His orders were to protect Dutch trade. A movie about his adventures came out in 2015.

However, the main reason I picked the name of his ship as the name for my blog is due to my never-ending endeavor to share with the English speaking world how the letter IJ in my first name is to be pronounced.
